Sharing is nice, but...

I want to teach baby V to share. Share her laughter and toys with friends. Share her smiles and hugs with family. I did not, however, bank on teaching her to share her germs with mami. Poor thing has been sick all week with a cold and I'm not lagging far behind. I hope I'm at least generating alot of antibodies and that I can share them with V. That way, she'll get much better in no time. She's sleeping now... I'm going to take her cue and share a nap with her.

Breakfast at Whole Foods

We went to Whole Foods this morning to have breakfast from their deli (one of our favorite weekend rituals when we lived a block away from Whole Foods) and then do some groceries. We were eyeing all the cute families there for an early breakfast and we realized... we are now a "family" doing the very same thing. What an identity change. Top it off by us buying two packs of 7th generation diapers simply because they were on sale for $9.99 (we'll need them sooner or later). The fact that we know how expensive 7th generation diapers are around town... it's sad, really really sad.

3 months

Tomorrow baby V turns 3 months old! Time sure has flown. I haven't posted much lately, I know. Probably my readership (shout out to the special few) have thrown up their hands in disgust and given up checking for new posts. C'est la vie.

B and I have gone back to work. V is flourishing and seems to enjoy staying with the nanny. We are happy with the nanny and she seems attached to the baby. V is growing up so fast. Every time I pick her up at the nanny's she seems to have grown in my absence. You should see the smile she gives us when we pick her up. It's the same smile she gives when I leave, just heart-warming instead of heart-wrenching.

I'm planning for a conference in March in Florida. V is going with me and abuela is coming up to spend time with her while I enjoy attending meetings. Afterwards, B is joining us in Ft Lauderdale for some family time. My cousin in Miami is getting married the weekend after the conference. He couldn't have timed that any better.

This trip to Florida may help us eventually move down there. I'm going to talk to some folks at the conference about job opportunities in Miami. It would be lovely to move back and be closer to mi familia. I'm pretty sure my parents won't mind the extra time with baby V.

Daycare

Tomorrow is V's first day of daycare and my first "I'm really back to work" day. Hopefully, we'll all survive the adventure. Best case scenario is that only B&I find the experience traumatic and that V will love daycare. Keep us in your thoughts...
