Water related activities

We didn't do anything exciting for the 4th. No BBQ's, no fireworks. Just the three of us chilling out.

We did head to the beach for an hour or so yesterday. Baby V learned what sand was all about. She loved grabbing fistfuls of sand. I'm not sure how she felt about the cold seawater on her feet. B only dipped her toes in the water for a second or two. Maybe she liked it, but she was all about the sand. Water she can find in her bathtub at home. Sand, now that's something different.

Today we spent an hour or so (with a baby I find we do alot of things for an "hour or so") at Greenlake for the annual Seafair milk carton derby. Saw a few races, that was fun. Pickup up some free swag, too cool. Got a helium balloon for V. Hold the phone, thanks mom for this new amazing toy! That's what I imagine she was thinking. She *loved* the balloon and grabbing the string. Her second favorite thing was when we sat on a fallen tree and ate food. Mainly because we couldn't watch her as closely as we normally do and she was grabbing fistfuls of grass/moss/flowers and was making eyes at an ant that wandered a little too close. He got off lucky, because we caught her in time.

Anyway, good times. There are some themes that emerge.

1) V likes grabbing things
2) V likes when we are distracted
3) If you want to do anything fun with us, we're up for anything that can be done in an hour or so. :)
