Celebrity baby names
Oh great. Angelina Jolie just named one of her twins, Vivienne Marcheline. That was one of the spellings we had considered for our baby. It was either going to be Vivianne, Viviane, Viviene, or Vivienne. All spellings exist in France. The "e" at the end is important. In France, Vivien and Vivian are considered boy's names. Anyway, it was not like we were trying to come up with a new and crazy spelling for "Vivian".
In the end we decided on Viviane. We thought Viviane would sound prettier in Spanish, French, and English. It's a name that we love, it has special meaning to us (means lively/vivacious and is associated with Arthurian lore), and isn't too popular in France/US at the moment. Baby V wasn't going to have 50-million Vivian's in her school.
Now that a celebrity has chosen that name for her babe, you know that it's going to become more common! Well, at least she is before the wave. Avant-gard you might say. Sorry for being so churlish. But really, what is a blog for if not for venting and churlishness?

I'm an Arthurian geek because when Rich told me what you named the baby, that was the first thing I thought of. It *is* a beautiful name. :)
Hopefully the name won't become too common.
Not too far from where B's dad grew up is a Forest (Broceliande Forest). We hiked around it and saw the fountain where Viviane supposedly enchanted Merlin. :)
p.s. Thanks!
OMG, that is so cool! I would totally trek out there to see that. Poor Rich.
