Weekend recap
Baby V just fell asleep. She fought her afternoon nap for 2 hours and finally crashed. We should take a nap ourselves... but we've are going to a party in an hour (strike that, whenever V wakes up), and I feel like a should stay awake and get some things done around the house.
It's been ages since I've blogged. Here's a short recap (in no particular order):
I resubmitted my manuscript and can finally clean off my desk and work on new things! Huzzah!
I'm having fun looking at cruise data and pretending I'm an observationalist. Why does real data have to be so patchy in space and time? Instruments fail, that's not surprising. But why do they always fail at exactly the wrong time/place? Models may produce unrealistic "data", but at least there are no gaps!
We still don't know what we are doing jobwise this fall. But, we are working on moving to South Florida.
In the meantime, we finally booked tickets to go visit B's family in France. Everyone is excited to meet V. We are looking forward to getting some zzzz's on the beach while the grandparents spend quality time with V.
It's finally sunny here in Seattle. It took long enough! The days are already getting shorter. I know I'd probably complain about the heat if we'd had months of sunshine by now... Let's face it, I like to complain. I've come to terms with it.
I took V around Greenlake. We stopped at the wading pool and dipped in our feet. Delicious. I had a good reason for why we weren't going to go swimming -- seemed less good when we were actually there -- and so I didn't bring her bathing suit, sunscreen, towels, etc., etc. We are going to try to go tomorrow and spend a few hours in a shady spot. Who knows, maybe I'll even prepare a picnic lunch?
Okay, you are now up to date. Let's do this again, real soon.
