Please go snorkeling or scuba diving and enjoy the reefs while you can. According to recent studies (CNN article), corals are dying off much faster than before.
Enye is the phonetic spelling of the spanish letter ñ (n with a tilde on top). It's one thing La Niña (cold anomaly in tropical Pacific ocean or "the girl") and El Niño (warm anomaly or "the boy") have in common. It's also been used to define first generation Cuban Americans (Generation ñ).

La Niña is the cool side of the El Niño Southern Oscillation. A while back our oceanography softball team chose nicknames. Because I'm a tropical oceanographer, I chose La Niña and the number 99 (there was a very strong La Niña during 1999). The fact that I found this hilarious and oh-so-clever says something about me... but the nickname stuck. So who is laughing now?
